The Entrepreneurship Major is designed for students who have a demonstrated desire to launch their own venture.

A Student Opportunity Fund provides the opportunity for students to compete in a business plan competition and receive loans and angel investment to launch their enterprise upon graduation.

In addition, students gain practical experience as they run the Akilah Social Enterprises. 

Curriculum

All Akilah students are required to take 14 core courses as part of the Business Diploma.

  • Consumer Behavior
  • Human Resource Management
  • Inventory Control
  • Entrepreneurial Finance
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Market Trends: Rwanda and the East African Community
  • Writing the Business Plan
  • Creating & Leading Teams & Organizations
  • Rwandan Business Regulations & Tax Law

Internships

Students are required to complete an internship in a local business in order to understand the complexities of launching and managing a company in the East African company.
