Students take a Leadership & Ethics course every semester. Our experienced Leadership instructors prepare young women to discover their own voice and self-confidence, articulate their vision, and gain the necessary skills to lead and manage teams.
The positive environment at Akilah facilitates the growth and practice of virtues such as service, responsibility, honesty, excellence, and friendliness. Students develop a strong work ethic and all are expected to play a role in the upkeep of the campus. Akilah strives to promote mutual understanding and collaboration among students of different ethnic, social, and religious backgrounds.
Guest speakers from Rwanda, Kenya, and other countries provide insight to the hospitality industry and present leadership case studies. Students participate in site visits to hotels, restaurants and businesses around the country to meet with businesswomen.
