I will complete my course load with academic honesty and never cheat on any assignment or exam.
I will strive to improve my English at every opportunity. I commit to only speaking English on the Akilah campus.

I recognize that each student at Akilah has been chosen based on her potential to succeed, and I will show compassion and support toward my fellow classmates.
I will follow Akilah’s policies, as detailed in the Akilah student handbook.
I will respect the Akilah community and staff and do my part to keep the facilities clean and safe.
Innovation & Creativity
I will be bold in thought and action. I recognize that the Akilah classroom is a safe place where I am encouraged to take risks in my thinking.
I will constantly challenge myself to create, innovate, and nurture an environment of continuous improvement in my own work and in the Akilah community.
I will always believe in my ability to succeed at things that I have never tried.
Leadership & Service
I will serve as a positive role model in all of my interactions with my local community and on the Akilah campus to both students and visitors.
In my internships and outside activities, I will provide an example of professionalism: promptness, courteousness, cleanliness, and adeptness.
I will always strive to find ways to give back to the local community. When I graduate, I will seek ways to support the Akilah community through my hiring practices, scholarships, and alumni engagement.
Relentless Commitment to Excellence
I recognize that my experience at Akilah will be challenging, but I will always approach these challenges with a good attitude, viewing them as an opportunity to learn and grow.
I will always be engaged in the classroom activities and complete all on my assignments on time.
I will actively communicate with my teachers and mentors if I am having problems in class or need additional assistance. I will put in extra hours of study if I need to catch up with the rest of the class.
I will fully embrace the many learning opportunities at Akilah in order to further my personal development and my capabilities as a wise and courageous leader.

"1994 will forever remain imprinted in my memory. We need to educate our new generation about what happened even as we forge ahead with nation building. Yes, I must say that it is difficult, but somehow one must gather the strength to carry on with the mission I seek for a better life ahead."
