How Akilah changed Florence’s life forever

Share

During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, Florence Mukundwa lost

family – and hope.

In 2010, she joined the Akilah Institute in order to gain business and entrepreneurial skills.

She quickly found a job at a boutique hotel in Kigali, and used this income to send her siblings to school.

Now she has launched her own business with another Akilah student, Anita, employing women from her village to produce clothing and bags for local purchase.

“Our business will employ women and help develop our community.

Akilah has changed my life and given me hope.

What Akilah has done for me, I will do for others.”

-Florence Mukundwa

Please consider providing this life-changing opportuntity to other young women in Rwanda.

A donor has offered to match, dollar-for-dollar, all contributions to Akilah before January 1, up to $25,000.  DONATE NOW.

Your support makes it possible to provide scholarship support to the

new class of students at the Akilah Institute in Kigali.
