In order to ensure long-term financial sustainability, the Akilah model relies on student-run social enterprises to support operating costs of the Institute. These enterprises are used as a platform for enhanced learning as students gain practical business experiences. Akilah partnered with the international network Teach A Man To Fish to develop business plans for campus social enterprises. Akilah will generate its own resources and improve the relevancy of the educational programs by producing as selling goods and services as part of skills and entrepreneurship training.
Current earned revenue projects include Akilah Adventures, English To Go and Akilah Farms.
