Akilah is working with the international network Teach A Man To Fish to develop business plans for campus social enterprises, student-run businesses that generate income and ensure long-term sustainability, with the goal of becoming a self-sufficient campus within five years. These small and medium enterprises will be used as a platform for enhanced learning to improve the quality of education offered. Students will work in the Akilah ecolodge, restaurant and agricultural programs to gain more practical training. Current earned revenue projects include Akilah Adventures, English To-Go and Akilah Farms.
