How Akilah changed Florence’s life forever

During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, Florence Mukundwa lost

family – and hope.

 In 2010, she joined the Akilah Institute in order to gain business and entrepreneurial skills.

She quickly found a job at a boutique hotel in Kigali, and used this income to send her siblings to school.

Now she has launched her own business with another Akilah student, Anita, employing women from her village to produce clothing and bags for local purchase.
