Jennifer White

Jennifer has 15+ years of experience in investment and strategy. As an entrepreneur,  management consultant and investor, she has worked with a broad set of institutions and  clients including Fortune 100 companies, private equity funds, non-profits, governments and  high net worth individuals. Specifically, she has worked across 13 countries in Africa and has  developed strategy and innovative financing solutions for sectors including agribusiness,  infrastructure, financial services and education.  

More recently, Jen founded Student Finance Africa (SFA), a fintech company focused on tertiary  education lending. SFA partners with leading educational institutions to provide students with  credit to finance school fees. During her time as founder and CEO, she secured startup capital  to launch pilots in Kenya and built the company’s credit scoring and data approach.  

Jen was a Vice President at Kuramo Capital, a pan African fund. Her key role was building  relationships with private equity funds and local businesses to develop a robust pipeline of  investment opportunities. She led due diligence on several deals. In her capital raising role, she  built relationships with endowments and foundations. Jen opened the Nairobi office, and was a  member of the IC. 

At the Monitor Group, Jen was a manager where she led investment projects across Africa on  behalf of institutions including the Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, USAID and  other development finance institutions. She also connected business owners with global capital  pools including impact investors, grant and commercial capital. A high note of Jen’s experience  included being asked to join the Kenyan Delegation at the Grow Africa Forum in Ethiopia to  represent the government’s interests and lead the government in discussions with global  investors.  

Jennifer began her career on Wall Street at Citibank.  

Jennifer received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with honors and  was a member of the varsity field hockey team where she was an All-American Academic. She  was awarded an MBA from the University of Toronto where she was a social impact scholarship  recipient. She has lived in Kenya and Uganda and currently resides in South Africa with her two  children and husband.
